If I have a map of Florida published in 1917 and I use it to get around, it’s probably not going to be very helpful. If my computer is an Apple II plus from 1982, I’m not going to be able to do as much as I can if I had a Pentium III 500 MHz. In either case though, that may be the best I have at the time.
Everyone makes the best choices they can from their current map or model of the world.
